An aromatic spice mix added to a thin soup made with tomatoes and cooked lentils called Rasam, a staple and an ultimate comfort food for many South Indians.

Ingredients:
- Coriander seeds - 1 cup
 - Toor dal - 3/4 cup
 - Red chillies - 1 cup
 - Black peppercorns - 1/2 cup
 - Cumin seeds - 1/4 cup
 - Curry leaves - 1/4 cup
 - Turmeric powder - 1 tbsp
 
Method:
- Dry roast all the ingredients except turmeric powder, over low heat until aromatic.
 - Let it cool completely. Grind to a slightly coarse powder. Add turmeric powder and pulse couple of times to combine.
 - Allow it to cool completely and store in an airtight container.
